A 90-year old woman from Northern Ireland, Margaret Keenan, on Tuesday, December 8 became the first person in the world to receive the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine outside trial conditions. Keenan received an injection at the University Hospital in Coventry, England marking the start of the mass vaccination program in the United Kingdom.
The Covid-19 vaccination program in the UK, the first of its kind to be rolled out, is being undertaken by the National Health Service (NHS). A grandmother of four, she described the vaccination as “the best early birthday present I could have hoped four”.
